Lumberjacking is the gathering skill that feeds Woodworking, harvesting Wood and Resin from wood piles found throughout the world.
Equip a Lumberjack Axe and right-click a wood pile to begin — these are commonly found near trees. Nodes scale in tiers as your skill grows: ordinary Wood Piles give way to Fine, Ironbark, Golden Palm, and Whisperpine variants, found across zones like Sungreet Strand, Keeper’s Bight, Shaded Dunes, and Evershade Weald.
Every wood pile also has a “Rich” version with a higher minimum skill that extends how long the node keeps giving skill-ups. Wood and Resin drop from every tier — the wood type is what changes as you level, feeding Woodworking’s own Board recipes.
Regular Wood Piles are your only option until skill 50, so don’t rush past them. Once Fine Wood Piles open up, work the Rich variant of your current tier before moving on — it keeps paying out skill-ups a bit longer than the base node.

Carpentry — the eventual destination for those Boards.
